Ordinariate for Eastern Catholics in Brazil

Ordinariate of Brazil for the faithful of the Eastern rite is a diocese of the Catholic Church immediately subject to the Holy See. In 1998 there were 10,000 baptized. It is currently governed by Walmor Oliveira de Azevedo, Archbishop of Belo Horizonte.
==Territory and statistics==

The diocese includes all the faithful of the Eastern Catholic rites of Brazil without its own jurisdiction. The Ordinariate's seat is the city of Rio de Janeiro.
The territory is divided into four parishes and there were 10,000 Catholics belonged to this Ordinariate.
==History==
The Ordinariate was erected on November 14, 1951 with the decree Cum fidelium〔()〕 of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches, which gave effect to a decision ex audientia of Pope Pius XII took on 26 October 1950.
Subsequently, some Churches sui iuris erected their ecclesiastical districts:
* On May 30, 1962 for the faithful of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church was erected the Apostolic Exarchate (today Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of São João Batista em Curitiba)
* On November 29, 1971 for the faithful of the Maronite Church and the Melkite Greek Catholic Church were erected respectively the Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of São Paulo and the Melkite Greek Catholic Eparchy of Nossa Senhora do Paraíso em São Paulo.
